Ah, proper rotating mirror beacons, none of this LED crap Very Happy

Red ones do seem odd over here though, ours are mostly blue, although the police have recently taken to using both red and blue on rearward facing lamps on the light bars. There is a strict prohibition about allowing red lights showing to the front of a vehicle here.

Some states have certain rules on police/sheriff light colour. My state (Georgia (US)) uses blue for these law enforcement vehicles.

They're all blue here, hence the term "blues & twos" when a cop car is off somewhere very quickly..! Only emergency services are allowed blue lights and only when responding to an emergency call. Red lights are starting to come in on police and ambulance light bars, but they're only designed to show to the rear and they're generally only used when a vehicle is stationary at a scene. On the move it's normally blues only.
