Long shot of T12 Room
You can see the light in the middle of the room is the only one that works... It has a 40W Alto on the left side and a Residential GE EcoLux F40T12 on the right. The frontmost fixture has the 40W Alto and 34W Westie. The one in the back is the one with only one lamp, it's a rectifying 40W alto. All the altos were maked "0J".

Relamping time! Laughing Nice fixtures; save these if you can!

I'd like to but I'd feel awkward doing so since my troop doesn't really know about my lighting interest so that's why i had to take the pics when no one was around.

I tell people about my lighting hobby all the time...at least you were nice enough to try to make them work...if I went that far I'd come back with new lamps and sockets Laughing

UPSETTING UPDATE: Okay, so it was on the news this moring that one of the cabins at this reservation burned down. I don't know if it was this one or not though...

Hopefully not; but at least you saw them while they still worked...
Slightly morbid thought, but maybe these ballasts are so old they lacked the "Class 'P" rating (no thermal protection) so maybe one with dead lamps (maybe that 34w Westy? Laughing Shocked ) overheated, had a "Wonderfully Nasty Stuff Incident", and started a fire on the dried-out wood ceiling...

possibly... in some aspects this cabin looked so new (EMT, newish looking internal walls and ceiling, new smoke alarms) and in other ways it looked so old (ancient gas stove, weathered looking hardwood floors, older windows). i was actually hoping the "Dean Cabin" had burned instead. that thing's a pigsti, though it has ancient fluorescents too.

its actually less likely that the fixtures with dead lamps could have had a ballast failure, they run cooler with bad lamps then working ones, i have not yet come across a RS ballast that runs hotter with bad lamps then working ones. I have found this to be true with both F34 and F40T12 lamps
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Mar 05, 2013 at 03:14 PM]
So was it actually this one that has burned?
streetlight98   [Mar 05, 2013 at 07:55 PM]
No, i found out it wasn't this cabin. It was the Pulver Cabin. For the news video, please click here. I've never been in the cabin that burned so i don't know if there were any vintage lights. They said the place was undergoing rennovations so the old lights may have already been removed. Either way, whatever lights were in that cabin are gone now...

The Altos were made in Sep. 2010
