Sylvania 175W BT28 MV
from February 1986..found at work in the bin.
it didn't do anything on a 175W MV ballast and nothing on a 400W MH ballast, so I tried a 250W PS MH ballast and it lit up without a problem. after moving it to the 175W mv ballast it worked fine, it's about 30% output and green
the center of the arctube is black but not nearly as bad as the end near the starting probe
with that said this is my 1st sylvania Bt -28 mv !
I also found a 2013 phillips 175W DX and it's pretty new and works

Nice! All my 175W mercs are near full output. I do have two 100W MV lamps that are about as effective as a 15-25W incandescent though lol. Both are 70s BT-25 cleartops, a Sylvania and a Westy LifeGuard

I guess the superimposed ignitor gave a little oomph on that dying bulb Confused
