Does this Ballast Use a Three Wire Ignitor?....id like to Find a Two Wire One...but they seem to be Quite rare. ....also...i find it Quite Funny that this is in the Gallery "Incandescent Lamps"..when this is a Sodium Vapor Bulb!...which i like to sometimes call Salt Lamps!
Yes, the ignitor has three wires. Ballasts with two-wire ignitor are usually those low-end yardblasters and replacement ones are hard to find. On my ballast, the ignitor is plugged. However Ballastronix doesn't exist since 1998, so I'll have hard time getting a spare ignitor...
My AE 115 ballast has a 2 wire ignitor.. and the GE 3 wire ignitor will not work. it was for S55 150w hps whitch is in a ballast box atm. Vince: I have a spare GE igniter if you want it... EDIT... forgot, your parents will not let you get anything on the internet... agh nvm then.
a 2 wire ignitor is easier on the ballast when cycling.....because a 3 wire will go THROUGH the ballast while a 2 wire goes directly to the lamp...now it is possible to put a 2 wire on a 3 wire ignitor style ballast. I had my friend help me do that.....
