nope!!! the opposite!
LilCinnamon   [Dec 02, 2011 at 07:52 AM]
Do the newer ones have the troffer design that is not parabolic? Just the decoration things in there... I saw they replaced all the lights at the Target I usually go to (and applied for a job at) And at a lot of other targets too.
A_lights   [Dec 02, 2011 at 06:31 PM]
Well they're parabolic but more spread out and do a better job then a diffuser in my opinion, same light as the 4 lamp ones they had with the same 28W GE lamps
GullWhiz   [Dec 02, 2011 at 07:03 PM]
They look very similar to the old ones......but with 2 lamps.......this pic was taken DURING the changeover.......now they are ALL done
streetlight98   [Aug 06, 2012 at 03:32 AM]
Here Target uses 5X F32T8 parabolic troffers.
FGS   [Aug 06, 2012 at 04:28 AM]
Five parabolic fixtures or 5 lamps per fixture? Shocked Confused
xmaslightguy   [Aug 06, 2012 at 04:41 AM]
I saw a Target when it was partially chanced over like this...2 different fixture styles and different lamp colors (new looks like 3500k, old was 3000k)
Personally I think the original fixtures themselves were better looking, the replacements just look cheezy/cheap
GullWhiz   [Aug 06, 2012 at 01:43 PM]
To me, the replacement has a design like the older preheat fixtures of the past in some level
A_lights   [Aug 06, 2012 at 02:04 PM]
yeah I have to say the replacements are better
however I have seen 2 ballasts fail at my store already
GullWhiz   [Aug 06, 2012 at 02:49 PM]
It's not the fixture but the ballast
streetlight98   [Aug 06, 2012 at 04:20 PM]
@ Felipe; sorry i worded that a little oddly. I meant 5 lamps to a fixture. Smile
A_lights   [Aug 06, 2012 at 06:10 PM]
I have never seen a 5 lamp fixture! I've seen 6,8 and even 10
streetlight98   [Aug 06, 2012 at 06:21 PM]
I never knew troffers came with any more than 4 lamps before seeing them.
xmaslightguy   [Aug 07, 2012 at 04:23 AM]
@Jace the Gull/GullWhiz:
The new fixtures here look kinda like the generic parabolic ones they replaced....except that the 'parabolic'/cover thingie is all white plastic rather than the normal shiny/reflective stuff

I wonder If the new fixtures use F48T8/HO (44watt) lamps?
----
I have seen 6-lamp troffers before (but they were old)
I also saw some 4'x4' 8-lamp troffers (again OLD stuff) at a mall/store that is now long gone..even as a kid I wanted one of those...
A_lights   [Aug 07, 2012 at 05:49 AM]
they use hi-lumen 32w GE startcoat lamps,along with high BF ballasts, some stores use the 28w apparently
streetlight98   [Aug 07, 2012 at 07:23 PM]
Ick my school used the 28W lamps. The brand was something like Service Long Life or Life long Service...
xmaslightguy   [Aug 08, 2012 at 04:09 AM]
@streetlight98
The F40T12 & F40T10 versions of "Service Long Life Guaranteed" (made by Philips I believe) seemed to be good lamps. I've never seen a T8 version.

@A_lights
I do like the brightness of those GE 32w Startcoat lamps.
Haven't used one, but I've heard some of the high BF F32T8 ballasts will even overdrive a bit (has a BF of a bit more than 1 ) Smile
GullWhiz   [Aug 08, 2012 at 11:42 AM]
Did you just say Bower Factor? Laughing or even "boyfriend"
xmaslightguy   [Aug 10, 2012 at 02:52 AM]
LOL of those terms for 'BF' .. guess it could mean lots of things Embarrassed
In this case I was thinking 'Ballast Factor' - or how close it comes to driving the lamps at their rated wattage ...
I just googled 'Bower Factor' to see what'd come up ... guess there actually is such a term Shocked
Can be totally honest when saying never had a boyfriend LOL Laughing
--
maybe BF could also be:
Black Friday
Best Friend
Bond Fire
...or probably a ton of others Smile
Coolcat97   [Jun 30, 2015 at 12:44 AM]
BF could be bull frog
