This one may have an inverter style ballast.....it lights up two F15T8 lamps....me and FGS found this fixture in a bus in the junkyard!
CrazyLamp   [Apr 18, 2012 at 02:48 AM]
it mjust draw 3.5 amp of current and it take 14 hours run a battery compleatly down. but 6 to 8 hours is enough to keep your car from starting.

You would need to screw in the light to the roof. xD This looks tacky, but nice. xD Much brighter light for the car at night. xD

How did you mount the light up there in the first place?
FGS   [Apr 18, 2012 at 03:04 PM]
Alligator clips to the light's wires. The clips just bit into the screws on the car's OEM light. As for it being brighter than the car's stock light. HUGE difference between the two. Even my folks liked this light.
LilCinnamon   [Apr 18, 2012 at 03:52 PM]
I mean how was it mounted? How is it staying up there? I know how its connected but I was just wondering how it's MOUNTED Up there.
FGS   [Apr 18, 2012 at 05:27 PM]
That's what I just said. The clips are holding it up there. It's temporary until Jace can get some duct tape to tape it up there. (I think it's highly likely he will use duct tape. Razz ) I would bolt it down if I had it in my car.
CrazyLamp   [Apr 18, 2012 at 06:20 PM]
why dont you use velcrow strips to hold them down and you can remove them any time.
A_lights   [Apr 18, 2012 at 10:49 PM]
I want one of those now Razz

LOL, energy-saving lights are invading cars! Shocked

I would like to install a CCFL / inverter kit in my car's glovebox so I can see inside at night LOL. I have a few of those kits from old scanners and I don't use them anyway xD

FGS   [Apr 19, 2012 at 03:45 AM]
You do know I was messing with you Mr. Gull right? HEH! LOL! Laughing I know you're gonna bolt it down or velcro it. Wink

GullWhiz   [Apr 19, 2012 at 03:56 AM]

Binarix128   [Jun 21, 2020 at 06:47 PM]
Is not that bad idea, you only need a good protection for it.

You can use a voltage elevator from 12V to few KV, with a 20w output, and operate the tube as a cold cathode tube. Smile
