Nice! Most of the metal poles here had pole top ballasts like this back in the day, holding Form 109s, OV-20s, and teardrop lights.

Nice ad, Most of the remote ballasted lights here were on wood or concrete poles and had the ballast mounted on the side of the pole. I think even the few metal poles that once held remote ballasted lights had either side of pole or pole base mounted ballasts. Pole top mounted ballasts were very rare here.

A very common arrangement. Most of Buffalo's 400 watt series MV lighting was set up this way on 25 or 30 foot poles. Also note the different refractor design here. This was exclusive to the Ovalite.
