Another Hack Job
This appears to be a ceiling or canopy fixture that was modified to be a decorative lantern. IIRC was HPS originally but now converted to LED with an oversized cobb. It looks like the bowl was cut with a hole saw to make it fit. This is at Lake Arrowhead Village shopping area.

I've seen some of these bulbs survive being rained on in post-top fixtures with missing globes (with bulbs running base down) so i'm not sure how likely rain is going to kill it.
