GE LED found at Red Robins...
They are pretty much all over Red Robin restaurant, and I must tell you, they are VERY decent! They have had them for a while....in matter of fact...at first I didn't notice them as they were SO much like incandescent, it's easier to compare between CFL and incandescent than THIS LED and Incandescent!

Wow! Okay how bright these are? Compared to Incandescent.

You can immediately see how good GE LED lamps are. The heat sink is actually the housing of the lamp, it leads to good heat dissipation, so a lower efficiency loss over lifetime AND a longer lifetime too! On the other hand, the Lights of Chinese America LED lamps are trash! No heatsink at all, no wonder they are 90% dimmer at 1000 hrs.!

I wasn't too impressed with most warm white LEDs they are kinda cold-ish like CFLs. Slightly better color rendering than CFLs tho.

Not this one....I mistaken them to incandescent dude! Those were coldish at all, not one bit! Those looked EXACTLY incandescent! I have a pic of the food lit by this!

And nothing new impresses you Dave Razz Laughing

Quite narrow beam, i guess no more then 20degrees... And i guess they compare the center intensity with center intensity of normal 60deg incandescent and claim the LED is 10x more efficient... Sad
The assembly itself might have good heatsink, but blocking it like in the fixture on the photo mean the same like having no one, the hot air has to have space, where to go...

They kinda look like 3,000K CMH usually mine does.

I Bet that Fixture is an Expensive little Thing......and i wonder if it can be found anywhere at GE's Website.......also.....how did you did you Find out it was GE? Wink
GullWhiz   [Jul 16, 2010 at 05:47 PM]
I was talking about the lamp...the lamp is a GE

The fixture is just a normal screw incandescent fixture which are found in a restaurant called Red Robins....they have those in every Red Robins...Those used to have halogen PAR lamps but they changed them all with those expensive GE LEDs....

I have one of these installed in a track light in my kitchen as a test unit. So far it's a great unit. It's light blends nicely with conventional halogen PAR lamps. It uses 10 watts and only emits about half the light of a 50 watt halogen PAR lamp. It's beam is narrower than a regular PAR, so the area lit seems just bright, though not as big.

It's good over a diner table!
