I hate when this happening My Venture MH-DE 70W/UVS/GDX thallium lamp isn't so old, but one of its ceramic lampholders already disintegrating and loose. I've other 70W R7s MH lamps in this state. The worst one is the Sylvania HSI-TD 70W/D. Osram HQI-TS Excellence used glass lampholders, which have better heat resistance than ceramic lampholders.
