Keene 2x 6-Foot Slimline
A Keene 2-lamp 6-foot slimline fixture. Fairly rare to even see 6-footers!
This thing is made with thick metal and is fairly heavy (especially trying to carry 2 at once)

I was at an estate sale today and noticed they had some 6' slimline lamps, which had no price on them,so I asked... $ 3 for the box (5x of the slimlines & 2 F40T12's), so I decided I'd go grab them.
I'd seen the fixture but had no interest due to the high price on its box. Happened to be near the fixture box when I asked, they saw it and asked if that was bulbs too, I said that one is actually a fixture. They say the marked price and said that's way too much and said they were going to change it to $4. I said I'd take that one too.
So $7 for 2 of these & some lamps .. seemed like a deal :) even though I don't need them..
They appear to be totally un-used, never even put together , still in the original box.

(and yeah I know the endplate is missing, I just didn't bother to put it on)

Nice! Magnetic ballast? Is it no-PCBs? If so then it's post-1980. I didn't know that 6ft-ers had two channel covers. Thought it was just one.

Awesome!

Two channel covers vs one probably depends on who made the fixture..
The ballast is a yellow/green label universal, and no PCBs (I have a pic of it that I'll post later)

Nice heavy duty fixture!

If it's a Universal then it's dated on the back. Is it a therm-o-matic? If not, then it's mid-late 80s I think.

Yep its a 'therm-o-matic' I just posted an image here Smile
These are fairly quiet, just a nice soft hum. Don't get overly hot either.

Yeah I have an Advance Mark III that's LOUD! It rattles parts of the (suspended) fixture I think and I've done a video of how loud it is, but haven't ever posted it.

That was a great deal! Wish I'd come across stuff like that more often... Sad
