LED Dayburner
I noticed that a couple of the recently installed [url=http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-4411] Lumec Roadstars [/url] was dayburning so I grabbed a shot of one. I believe this one replaced a Crouse Hinds OV15 [img]http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img]

EDIT: It actually replaced a FCO Powerlite B2227, [url=http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&ll=43.780886,-79.557023&spn=0.00739,0.020964&z=16&vpsrc=6&layer=c&cbll=43.78091,-79.556913&panoid=wCt3l8Q-uh1--rhTsatQ5w&cbp=12,91.66,,2,-19.12]here's the Streetview link.[/url]

This is the SAME kind of LED fixture that was put up in Parker, CO on some traffic signals. Now I know the brand!

These fixtures replaced some M-400 R3's on like 4 traffic signals? 4 on each signal. So like.. 12 of these?

@Niall that there is the Gull Filter (TM) no one knows how it exactly works, but engineers working 24/7 at 347V Electrical Devices have speculated that it uses a team of 12 or so elite ICGs (Internet Censoring Gulls) to peck out any blocked words, hence the peck marks "..." on your comment. Laughing Laughing

Ah very nice......I wonder what the word was...

One of the many mysteries of GoL...
prawnman88   [Apr 27, 2011 at 12:42 AM]
huh brand new and day burning already not really saving energy if its on during the day
joe_347V   [Aug 14, 2011 at 10:46 PM]
And plus, they're even spottier than FCO lights at night.
LilCinnamon   [Aug 14, 2011 at 10:58 PM]
At a re-built intersection in the mountains on 285 they lave lots of new LED's up and they are dayburning. But, they are still working on stuff there so it's probably temporary.

And I saw these LED's lit at night, man I LOVED the color! They were bright and they lit the road well. Better than HPS I can say.
gailgrove   [Aug 14, 2011 at 11:01 PM]
No way do LEDs light the road better than HPS, maybe the colour is better but CMH is better than both of them.
GullWhiz   [Aug 14, 2011 at 11:16 PM]
Niall, don't be biased on them JUST because they are NOT HID....be honest, and facts man....I will say the Icetrons are better than the LEDs...But Icetrons are better than CMHs because Icetrons has smoother lighting distribution while CMH are kinda spotty because of smaller light source......
gailgrove   [Aug 14, 2011 at 11:18 PM]
I'm not being biased, I'm going by what I have seen in the field. I have seen these lit at night and I have also seen CMH lighting at night.
joe_347V   [Aug 14, 2011 at 11:29 PM]
I don't mind induction lights since they do look pretty decent when lit but the LEDs in my pic aren't that good at night since they're a bit dim and spotty.
Antstar85   [Aug 18, 2011 at 11:51 PM]
man thats one ugly light!
streetlight98   [Aug 19, 2011 at 02:26 AM]
i see your utility uses quality PCs too. Razz
joe_347V   [Aug 19, 2011 at 03:05 AM]
And quality lamps and fixtures too, really explains why the hydro bill is so high. /s Rolling Eyes
GullWhiz   [Aug 19, 2011 at 07:21 PM]
The fixture design.....here doesn't look too bad..it looks almost like a fluorescent or LPS fixture style (for its length....)

A challenge for ALL members....even if it's a fixture you hate, because of the looks, or shape, or size, or the source of light or type of ballast....try to find at least 2 positive things about those fixtures (and don't say anything too obvious LOL)

Sometimes I see a bit too much negative from you guys...you know some members are so negative about American Streetlights and some negative about other countries or whatever.....lets see if ANY of you can put positives on those you even don't like!

i've begun seeing LED's in more places, aside from some spots oF LED streetlights in Dallas and Waco,Texas (who is proposing an entire LED changeout for city lights) i've seen dairy queen and several other commercial buildings using LED's,in Dallas i even saw a Gas station that used LED Canopy lights!..and they were GOOD! they were Bright and the gas station was very well illuminated!
m@   [May 16, 2018 at 02:08 AM]
.Is this light still produced? and used in Vaughan? I recall this being the first mass changeout fixture I've seen
joe_347V   [May 17, 2018 at 11:06 AM]
I think they still make them since the product info page is still out. Wonder if there have been any revisions to the design though. 8 years is a long time in terms of LED tech.

Yeah I think Vaughan still uses them too
High Intensity   [May 17, 2018 at 12:06 PM]
These replaced a bunch of LPS fixtures near where i live.
Model25FanForever   [May 17, 2018 at 01:31 PM]
These are used in all of North Bay. I don't like them much though lol.
