it's funny how one box fixture is replacing another by fluke. Mississauga actually mounted LED's onto some poles that has this type of shoebox, in Erindale area.

Yeah too bad Brampton didn't do what Mississauga did Sad

Well all the shoeboxs and the OVXs and a AE 125 have come down now and the NVNs are now in full operation

The LEDs (mostly LeoTek Toilets) installed by RIDOT are popping up in larger and larger numbers. I caught wind that RIDOT predicts that it will have changed most of it's lights over to LEDs by the end of 2016. At this rate, they just might do that! On the freeway thus far, I actually don't mind the LEDs. They're not any more glarey than the FCO HPS lights they replaced and the color is nice, although they are a little dimmer. For some reason, sometimes they're only changing part of given interchanges to LED instead of doing the whole thing.

My whole province has gone mostly LED now. Still don't know when my city is going to fully convert. The new installs on new roads and intersections are LED now. Yeah I don't mind them at night. Not pretty fixtures to look at but LED's do look nice lit at night, basically any subdivision or road constructed 2013 and prior are still HPS. Theres also the odd LEDs in other neighbourhoods because of streetlight replacements, like the one in this picture.

Wow, I just rode down this road at night, and these NVN things might be bright as a 1000W highmast light. And it is not like an FCO cast where the light cuts, these throw the light almost horizontally. Houses across the street are lit up like it's white floodlights. And driving under one is blinding! They mostly use this NVN on higher poles for 400W HPS equivalent. This hood has had loitering, so maybe they just wanted to blast it chicago style.

Hmm interesting. I wonder how many watts these use?

I didnt know if they were thaaat bright. I seen them at night while driving on williams.

Well they don't make 1kW= LEDs for street lighting so they could only be 400W= at most.
