Wow the OVX made it that long? Laughing IMO, they should move the old lights to the temporary poles and then use brand new fixtures for the new permanent poles instead of using new fixtures for the temporary and permanent poles. Kind of a waste. Or why not just leave the old lights up until the new lights are installed and ready for power?

Usually here, when new lights are installed the old lights don't work so it's like not having freeway lighting anyway. On wood poles, they tend to just transfer the entire arm/fixture assembly to the new wood pole.

Mike said it. Some contractors in model25+my city do use old lumes, but somm like this use brand new lumes for temporary. What strikes me as odd, is all new construction is to be FCO, so I don't get why these new AEL's have drop lenses. anybody? I always wonder what they do with new temporary lights, sometimes I think they go up permanent somewhere.

And @Mike, they are installing watermaines and 2 lanes where the current lights are planted, so the temps will prevent any down time during construction removal.

Ahh I see. Here they manage a way around installing temporary lighting. I guess it's not required by law here for the roads to be lit during construction (they'll use those gas-powered MH spot lights to light the construction zone).

I find it funny how the R47's and R37's around this have outlived these OVX's Laughing

That further proves the quality that went into Powerlite/Sylvania light fixtures. Smile Hopefully I can get a R37 and maybe an R47 for the collection someday. It would be one long roadtrip back to Ontario to get them though lol.
