Lookin' good! That capacitor strap looks OEM enough to me. Very Happy What year's this from? Mine has a 5-position terminal block.

I believe it's a '78 when I got this one it was nos but was scratched up from storage and had a 400 merc. ballst 277 volt and no P.C just a clear cover on the P.C hole. but it was nice to put it back together with the original parts. I have original parts to all my lights I'll just have to find them when I move into my building. That whole assembly is one piece it sits on two brackets mounted to the housing. Next step is to order a dycron felt gasket from GE and replace this old dirty one.

The elastomer silicone gaskets arethe way to go! Razz Very Happy (they're basically modern rubber gaskets but i don't think they dry out). The rubber/silicone gaskets make a better seal IMO and they don't stiffen up like the felt gaskets.

well the problem with that is that this reflector/lamp assembly doesn't have a charcoal filter otherwise I would do that. My nos M400A with the gold label does have that.

Why does it need a charcoal filter? (and what is a charcoal filter?)

Well if you ever look at one with an elastomer gasket there's a black rough looking part to the reflector that's the charcoal filter normally in back of the lamp or front edge it's there to let the lamp breath and filter out any contaminants. With a felt gasket the lamp breaths and filters through it.

Ah My M-250CF has a red one of those. My M-250A and M-250R don't have those though. They have a solid rubber gasket around the socket so the inside is totally sealed.
