GE Power Bracket
Just arrived today, I found this one on e-bay, This light came with the older style optic with the good latches. 120 volt, 70 watt high pressure sodium. I'm debating on if I should put this one up in place of the 100 watt COOPER OVZ???

Nice Power Bracket George! Cool

Thanks Darren, I'm trying to to wake up so I can possibly install it today, I figure 20 + cups of coffee should do it. Shocked Lol.

nice bracket....im fond of pretty much all of them but the GE's are most familiar & common to me.

also what do you mean by the "good latches" more sturdy? Smile
Mercuryvapor123   [Jun 27, 2014 at 12:21 PM]
Yes, The older model latches are designed for a better grip on the fixture housing and they do seem to be more robust than the newer style.

This would look great but I would personally keep this inside just because it's NOS in the box. Not too many lights out there that are NOS in the box. I have three NOS GE cobrahead that I'm keeping indoors (or course it's your light so if you don't mind putting it out in the weather then go for it!) but I don't have the boxes for any of my NOS cobras unfortunately.

OOPs too late, Na' it's no big deal I have three, This one 2,400 watt mercs. and a 175 watt merc. door.
streetlight98   [Jun 28, 2014 at 01:29 AM]
All three of those are NOS in the box too? You should have mounted one of the 400W ones and used the skyguard optical. Very Happy The lamp would probably stick out the bottom lol.

Looks like the 20+ cups of coffee worked and you got it installed! Shocked Laughing
Mercuryvapor123   [Jun 28, 2014 at 03:06 AM]
Yep, 20+ cups did it,Lol. @ Mike the socket support is actually flipped over so the lamp is further up in the fixture for the 400 watt.
streetlight98   [Jun 28, 2014 at 03:19 AM]
ah so a 400W MV would still be recessed in the sky guard? I thought the bigger bucket was just deeper. To be honest i think the small bucket looks better.
Mercuryvapor123   [Jun 28, 2014 at 03:27 AM]
Yep it would be recessed and the PBP optical is slightly deeper as is the skygaurd. I'd have too agree i like the smaller one too, for some reason the larger optic looks to be a China mans hat. No offense though.
streetlight98   [Jun 28, 2014 at 03:31 AM]
Maybe the next light will be a 400W MV bracket with the skyguard? I'm curious how that would light your yard. There wouldn't be any light trespass and the yard would be nice and bright, just a high electric bill lol.
Mercuryvapor123   [Jun 28, 2014 at 03:43 AM]
That's the problem THE BILL, I do do allot for my dad but I don't pay the electric bill. If i did I'd have my M-1000 up, Lol. I think the Gull and FGS might be stopping by tomorrow. i'll have to get some crazy pics with him. You should try and come down sometime. I would visit but i don't trust my care that much. Confused
streetlight98   [Jun 28, 2014 at 03:52 AM]
Yeah the electric bill is a killer. Time to invest in some solar panels but with all the energy that we would use with our 150ft 12X 15000W MH highmasts, we'd need to buy a 50-acre lot and fill it with solar panels lol.

Ah great! Yeah I'd love to come down and meet you guys (I don't know sign language though Sad ) but right now I can't since my parents make the rules until i'm out on my own. I will be meeting up with Joe Maurath Jr this summer though and will get to tour his indoor collection. I'll be taking LOTS of pics. Very Happy
Mercuryvapor123   [Jun 28, 2014 at 03:57 AM]
Lol. Yea it would take allot of panel. I don't know sign language either but we have little to no difficulty communicating. But yea it would be really cool to have a gathering of the east cost lighting enthusiasts. we should have our own club like the Hell's Angels. Lol. But nicer.
