GE Evolve Second Gen Install
Sad to see these old OV-15's go with a residential street lighting upgrade but Its great to see Evolves being used here instead of different ugly waffles. A couple of first gen Evolves were installed a few years ago in various places but very small numbers of them. The performance upgrades for the second gen must have been good enough that the city decided to use them for streetlight replacements.

Ah waffles or toilet seats Laughing I like the shape of the older Evolve lights. This one also looks too small for a pole and arm this large. Also, is there no photocells on these?
I think this is the first time I've seen concrete poles being mass replaced for age in Brampton.
Strange how they're retrofitting the city with crees, but seeing all other kinds for the contract projects. But with any fixture used, trend in our city seems to be using smaller and smaller fixtures. There was a time they used a maximum sized cooper NVN waffle in this set up Shocked

I think there were PC's on them but they are very short. Yeah I have that impression too that Cree's are only being used in retrofits, not for new installs. Kinda nice though seeing multiple different fixtures in use in the City. I prefer the evolves over most LED's.

Yeah I've seen a slow down of NVN installs too. The only new ones Im seeing are the ones on Countryside Drive.

The city may have figured out they don't need to overlight to make up for the HPS output lol.

Is it really necessary for lights in a neighborhood to be like 45ft/14m off the ground? 30ft or 9m is sufficient IMO, even on a major road.
