All the Twistpaks and Cobraheads on this street are being replaced. They are not replacing the R47 in the back due to it being a recent installment and the same size pole as the new ones.
If I did catch them take down the old lights I'd try and get a R37 Yeah its the first subdivision with LED's ive seen here. The new lights installed in the D section less than a month ago were all HPS OVF's.
Yeah our school had a little tar accident There went the art room again
yeah I feel like the OVF's installed a month prior were supposed to be LED but the order came in wrong so they just installed them. Why else did they suddenly re-light with OVF HPS for a month instead of OVH HPS then now go LED.
All the new lighting upgrades they do around here, the city uses a different cobrahead everytime. Yeah a few more of them iv'e seen around here are OVH too
well at least they keep it interesting by you not knowing what they'll install. Here on the freeways it's always M-400 FCOs on tall davits when they install brand new lighting. On the streets it's drop lens GE M-250R2s for 50 and 100W HPS and Cooper OVZs for 250W HPS. 400W wood pole lights (only used in large numbers in Providence to my knowledge) are drop lens GE M-400s.
Yeah, it's a pretty fun game around here now when we see an OVF, we can never be sure if it is HPS or LED unless we look under! Funny thing about OVZ's around here, as of more than 7 years ago we'll never see an OVZ installed above 150W HPS. IT will always be OVX instead.
they might as well just make the OVZ in 400W and get rid of the OVX. I doubt that little bit of extra space really makes a difference... They're pretty consistant here but I heard that there will be some LEDs popping up on I-95 in Providence, RI near the mall so we'll see. they've set in the bases for the new poles but no new poles (yet)
The R47 in the back has now been replaced with a NVN and along with the other newer OVZ 2 poles in front. The LED's aren't in operation yet but all the lights have been disconnected except for the twistpaks.
Yeah I have a group of lights around me that are out and I want to call and report them, 2 OVX's a OV-15 and 2 R47's and a OVZ, I hope im there when these come down i'd love a R37 or a twistpak for sure!
just because they're out doesn't mean they're getting replaced. They might just need new lamps or the fuse at the pole's base (if it has one) might have blown. I'd certainly love an R37!
The R47 and OVZ that were converted to the NVN are now in operation! They have both HPS and LED in use on this street for now.The powerlites are pending removal but for now they are on because of weather delays.
One of these NVN's on this street have already broke! The tapered eliptical arm was broken off from the end of the arm. Leaving only the concrete pole and a stub of the arm still attached to the pole
this is usually a sign that the pole has been hit, those arms always seem to break at the mounting plate when on concrete poles. There was a guy arrested in this area for axeing various outdoor objects including utility poles .
Yeah our school had a little tar accident There went the art room again
It should have been an OVX
