Sorry for the pic, folks. I must have compressed it a bit too much Sad

Hmm. Odd that they used 150W HPS... RIDOT uses 400W HPS for the interstate now for new installations and 250W HPS for the ramps, though when the 400W MV lights were changed out, 250W HPS was originally used to replace both the ramps and interstate.

Both RG&E and National Grid (Formerly Niagara Mohawk) use 150 watt HPS along stretches of highway including the I-490, 590, Inner Loop (Rochester), NY Route 198 (Scajaquada Expressway), NY Route 33 (Kensington Expressway) {Buffalo). Incidentally, the I-390 heading South from the 490 to the Airport uses 400 watt HPS along the thouroughfare and 150 watt HPS on the ramps, but 150 watt HPS around the airport.

In this case, from the I-390 interchange through Downtown Rochester, yes.

So what did they replace! Those monochromic robotic Holophane buckets???
NiMo   [Sep 03, 2012 at 02:34 AM]
They replaced 30 X 12 foot truss arm poles with a myriad of GE, Crouse-Hinds, and American Electric lights. 150 watt HPS M400A1, A2, and A3, Crouse-Hinds OVM, and American Electric 25 and 325s.

By the way they look like the Lumec Citea Series

I have seen them replace some LPS fixtures on a bridge in NYC

You nailed it! I've seen a couple of the same poles at Mt. Read Blvd. with M400A3s on them.
