GE 38w California Wattage Soft White
Contrary to what you might guess, no, I did not buy these in California in the late '00s or prior to 2014. I actually bought these, off the shelf, today, in 2017, at a Sentry hardware store in Fairbanks, Alaska. Seemed weird, especially also seeing the Crystal Clear 38w bulbs they also had (Which I also have a pack of) but considering the rest of that store and the vintage, NOS items from decades ago it's no surprise to see this kind of thing there. They also have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of Sylvania GTE 3-way bulbs, from the early '90s, with a whole aisle endcap full of unopened cases of 'em. The building is also still lit with lots of 8ft slimlines and HOs, though LED is slowly creeping in; but no T8.

These are not the best-made; the coating is thin, doesn't go down all the way to the base, and at least one has an interesting defect with the glass I'll post later. I bought multiple boxes of these.

For losing two watts they lose a lot of lumens too, 455 vs. 490!
