Huge Westinghouse 1000W 250V lamp
|
I got this monster with the two /Ws. Since I have no decent access to 240V, I couldn't test it at full power. It was dim on 120V, but worked.
I have another 1000W 250V lamp not pictured, slightly different. Its base is loose though.

Nice find! Do you have a 240 volt outlet for dryer? I am not sure in Canada, but USA has them.....simply connect one in 120 phase A and other wire in 120 phase B and VOILA you got 240 volt! Do not attempt unless you took electrical class
I did take electrical class for residential branch circuits! I connected one dryer and one range outlet with tests and all (separately though). Plus I regularly install dryer and range outlets at my job.
I've always wanted to get a higher voltage lamp like that and run it on 120v for display.
