Globe Enersaver 43W halogen lamp
Those would supposedly replace a 60W bulb. They DO replace their own 60W with the same lumen output, although most 60W lamps of the big Three have a higher lumen output, making them no more efficient than the Enersavers pictured here.

These bulbs are only slightly more efficient than a typical 40W incandescent (500 lm) with 550 lm at 43W. I do like the fact they run much cooler, making them a better choice for completely enclosed fixtures.

Sounds like back to some kind of old idea with slightly higher wattage bulb and slightly longer life that was marketed from Commonweath Edison of Chicago.

Note it is 3000 hours, the longer life makes it less efficient. The 1000 hour halogens are as bright as their higher wattage incandescent counterparts.

What a positively horrible name -- Ener-saver. Makes no sense and does not roll off the tongue. Smile

Nice nickel-plated brass base, though.

Well you DO save energy with those, but they're only slightly more efficient than incandescents. For almost 2,50$ per bulb, they're not really worth it for most applications, except for enclosed fixture as I said in the description (because they run much cooler). Just put a 40W incandescent and you'll save as much LOL.
