They're taller than the utility poles! Shocked This is too tall IMO.

Shocked Reminds me of this.

yeah i was thinking that...they are pretty tall considering they run in a residental area...it is however busy to say the least, but still something abit less excessive...you can see Here what it looked like prior to what you see here...it was previously tapering down to a 2 Lane road past that intersection now they have it divided with a median...with lights!

and even though the poles aren't excactly the same you gotta admit the setup looks like they're just related to each other. Shocked

Well the arms in your pic look more angular that the ones used here, and the arms we use are tapered. Laughing

But really it looks very similar!

me myself i would prefer some double guys. Wink
streetlight98   [Sep 09, 2011 at 10:30 PM]
Me too. Double guy upsweep arms on poles about 2/3 of the hieght of these.

i wouldn't mind the tall poles on a highway with wide spacing...but these are kinda close together to say how tall they are,i assume the fixtures to be 200 or more likely 250 Watts...lots of development in this area so traffic on this residental road gets heavy at times during the day.
GullWhiz   [Sep 09, 2011 at 10:41 PM]
Check to be sure what the wattage actually is....because it could just be 150 watt closer together...and when you do that, you don't have as much problems when one goes out....making smaller dark areas!

Which one of my pictures are you referring to? I have a few like this. And Devonte and Michael, if you guys think this is bad you should see this road here, yes those are 50 foot direct burial concrete poles with 8 foot arms and 400 watt OVXs (actually some are 40 foot aluminum), all on a medium sized street in a residential area, that road is way over lit to say the least
Form109   [Sep 09, 2011 at 10:59 PM]
i was reffering to the poles...they look similar to something ive seen in your pictures.
gailgrove   [Sep 09, 2011 at 11:04 PM]
Well yes we do have some of this style of pole around.
