Gull Proof R47
Here is a Gull Proof Sylvania R47, haha Jace. This fixture is unusual due to the fact that it's a 400W HPS in a small fixture which are rare here to begin with, and has a Holophane glass refractor instead of polycarbonate. This high wattage fixture is in close proximity to a major pedestrian crossing to the beach.

Birds turds while flying....so you get yourself a fried poo from a oversized lamp in a undersized fixture!

400 watt R47s are quite common here, all our lights have glass refractors down to 70 watts. I really don't like those gull proofing spikes since they drill holes in the fixtures to mount them Confused

Never seen the spikes used here. The RIDOT doesn't seem to care if birds drop the load on the lights. Laughing Bird poo make the paint finish appear a bit more dull (rather than the shiney finish the new lights have).
