Traffic lights here in Western Canada are typically green with a reflective yellow trim.In this pic is a new traffic light set-up here in Abbotsford with an Eagle brand (Thanks Devonte) 12-12-12 inch LED signals.Notice in the background is the FCO territory of Abbotsford where all the fixtures were replaced with full cut off in this trial area (City and Utility) .
Yep, its required that all of the traffic signals (and pedestrian devices) are yellow, the poles and arms can be any thing as long as the signals are yellow
it seems strange...but its Actually the excact opposite of what i see down here in Texas and other states...we have Black Back Plates with Yellow Signals...and Canada has Yellow Back Plates with Black Signal Heads....a Pretty Cool Switch.
Yep, almost all of the traffic signals and pedestrian devices here (in Ontario) are yellow but I've seen some black signal heads along with some black backplates installed here with some coach lantern streetlights.
