Dark Blue FP OLC/Sun-Tech Photocontrol
Here is a dark blue FPOLC/Sun-Tech photocontrol. Silicon eye photocontrols are sensitive to infrared light so they use dark blue covers on them because the dark cover does not allow sunlight to pass through the cover. Their cadmium eye photocontrols have the standard lighter blue cover because cadmium photocontrols are not sensitive to infrared light. This is if the photocontrol is a multivolt unit. If it was a different voltage unit or was specified with a different color other than blue, the same practice applies, a darker shade of the color plastic would be used to mold the cover.

That's blue?! Shocked Looks like they're using a grayish blue plastic. I almost thought it was gray til you said it was blue in the description. I like the older colors from pre-2000 since it was easier to distinguish between them. It's kinda hard to tell what color a PC is nowadays since they're all very dark colors.

It is dark blue. It may be the lighting in my room where I took the pictures making it look gray. They still make them with the lighter color covers for the cadmium eye photocontrols.

Oh really? I figured it would be more cost-effective to make them all with the same style covers lol.

Yep. I was told that information by somebody from FP OLC/Sun-Tech.
