General Electric M-1000 I guess this one would be a 700 watt Mercury Vapor as the M-1000 down the road had a NEMA tag and it had a blue 70. This is close to downtown Colorado Springs. Over the main road. This is not in a parking lot. Downtown COlorado prings had plenty of oldie lights, Like some 1960's original M-400s and lots of M-1000s. Yeah I see it......Maybe they changed into using 1000 watt lamps since 700 watt lamps are harder to find now days

It could have a MH ballast then. Idea The M-1000 is my favorite large wattage fixture. Cool i'll get one some day......

There are still a few 700w MVs in Los Angeles and the surrounding area, very few though. The former 700w M1000s and OV50s and other large fixtures on the freeways have since been converted to 400w MV.

Mid-to late 60s version. Starting in 1970, the upper housing was redesigned to accomodate the new optic and slipfitter assemblies.
