On the bumps on the door I don't get why there are holes on both sides of the hinge-bump.

My M-400 R3 isn't that way and so are many others that are not that way.

The generations of the M-400 R3 confuse me.

i think they're drain holes...but that's just my opinion.

it's actually where the hinges would be and is in the same location and shape. I have seen one up close...if you look carefully you can see a bump in the middle which is normally where the screw would be for the powerdoor version....the 4 round holes are the drain holes but not those long holes.......but they are really for the hinges for the powerdoor version...

Here's what I think...in factory...they make them ALL one door...and the factory takes half as full one door and other half may go in a cutting machine and drill the screw holes and do the rest for the PowerDoor version...that's what I am thinking...because I know some one full door actually has some threaded holes on the inside of the door!!!!

No I know that's where the hinges would go. On MY M-400 R3 it has screw holes on the DOOR like on the power door.

BUT, the newest generation changed so there are no bumps on the M-400 R3. (Except for the level bump thing) and there are no screw holes inside. As I saw on the M-400 R3 I took a picture of on the ground. So I guess GE Changed that part.

But what I am confused about is WHEN they had the two holes on the hinge-bumps. Cause Some are like this, with the hinge bumps, others have a longer hinge bump, and then others have a short hinge bump like MY M-400 R3. And the latest generation has NO hinge bumps.

They may have gotten a new factory machine that only focuses 1 door for faster production by separating the 1 door and the power door machine assembly....They may have at first used one cast for both......now they have separate casts, one for power door and one for the one door version because they got sooo popular they need to sell more so they had to go a bit faster by doubling the time by separating them???

Seems to be the smae thign that happend with the 70's M-400A/M-400 split door. The older ones had the same cast and the later ones had separete door casts.
