New traffic signal just installed.
Over the past month they have been getting ready to install this down the road from where I live. We thought it was just maintenance but it looks like they are adding a traffic light.

Only yesterday did they put the thing fully up, the past few days they were putting the signals on just the side poles, and there was no over the road arms just yet. (they put those on yesterday)

And then last week is when they put the poles up with no signals on them.

So they next step I believe is to program the boxes, wire up the remaining stuff to be wired, and then take the covers off the signals. and stuff like that.

Here are a couple closeups of the signals too.

Usually here, they bag the lights until the cabinet is installed and once the cabinet is installed and the signals are wired to it, they unbag the signals and let they flash yellow (red on one side obviously) until they come back and program the cabinet. They might do things differently in other areas though. Here they've used loop detectors for quite awhile and a couple years ago started experimenting with video detection in addition to the loop detectors (or perhaps they bypassed the existing detection loops...).
