B2215s Still in Use!
Here's a trio of B2215s still in use but have since been converted to HPS. There's roughly around ten of these left near where I took this pic but the rest were scattered. Note the lack of PCs, I believe they are group relay switched which seems to be common in Waterloo Region.

Nice, I seem to recall seeing a few in that area too.

How does a relay work? How does a 1000W rated photocell control up to let's say 30 or so 400w lights?
gailgrove   [Mar 20, 2012 at 08:43 PM]
A relay is a big switch, usually a contactor rated for 30, 60, 100, ect. amps. What happens is the the photocell only controls this contactor, whenever the PC turns on, this causes the switch to close, energizing the lights. The only load the photocell serves is the contactor, it gets its power from another circuit.

Thanks! I wonder if any B2213s are still left in streetlighting service, I've yet to see those still used.

I've wondered about that too, I'd guess most likely not though. Sad On another note, who came up with that street name?
