Neon CLEANERS
I've always liked this style of indoor neon, which uses emply glass tubing to support the lighted section. Years ago we called this style "skeleton." Nowadays it seems many indoor signs are made with a plexiglass backing. This is (IMHO) not quite as pretty, but its certainly sturdier and easier to install.

Hard to make that big a sign whilst keeping it flat and capable of self supporting without breaking. It is easy to do neon, but to do it well is not cheap or quick to teach. You need very good vacuum pumps, and expensive gas fillings, as well as glassworking torches and benches, assorted glass and expensive electrode assemblies and the activator for them.
