I see is had one of those weird PC sockets that allows remote controlling.

Isn't that one of those receptacles for dimming photocontrols? Wink
streetlight98   [Jun 20, 2016 at 07:14 PM]
Yes it is. What's with the Wink ?

Hmm, I wonder what does that PC socket look like from the outside.
streetlight98   [Jun 21, 2016 at 02:41 AM]
Something like this I guess. Never seen one in person.

Ahh, this is the first time I've seen or heard of a PC socket with more than three pins. At least it looks like it's backwards compatible with traditional PCs.

The town I'm working in now has these fixtures installed. I will have to say they are not the worst looking LED's out there.
streetlight98   [Jun 23, 2016 at 03:09 PM]
Nah this one's not too bad, but the smaller version for 50 and 100W HPS is pretty ugly. Have you used any of those Crees?
Antstar85   [Jun 23, 2016 at 09:54 PM]
Not any cree's as of yet. Any LED's we've installed were the cooper OVF and the GE evolve. Of course I prefer the OVF because it still at least looks like a traditional cobrahead. Wink

I agree. Too bad the cobrahead LEDs never caught on. Hubbell had made an LED retrofit for cobraheads. Basically, you removed the refractor, reflector, and socket/bracket, installed the module on the door in place of the refractor, and wired it directly to the terminal block in place of the HID ballast, which you could either remove or just bypass. Sounded like a really awesome thing, but never lasted because they pulled them from the market. Neutral There are very few cobrahead retrofits out there because everyone is all about replace, replace, replace. Let's waste as much materials as we can. Rolling Eyes
