LED OVH
Here is another LED fixture that was Installed here in Holyoke. This fixture has 4 bars with 21 LEDs in Each bar making this a 95 watt LED fixture. This replaced a 150 watt HPS M-250A. I actually like this fixture because it actually looks like a real cobrahead. This road is has two of these fixtures up and they seem to light the street fairly well.

This IS a real cobrahead! As you already have one like this but in Mercury Vapor. xD

I like these too, the OVH's are a good fixture. I hope these are good quality unlike usual cooper's crappiness.

It would be cool if they made an LED OVG drop lens. xD

with the way the Strips are installed in the doors, there is no way to put a lens in these fixtures.

Maybe there's some way to put the refractor in and then put the LEDs on top of the refractor.
Antstar85   [Oct 18, 2011 at 07:39 PM]
not sure, I really never got a chance to really look at the insides of the fixture.

Now THERE's a decent looking LED fixture!
mercuryvaporrocks   [Oct 18, 2011 at 10:13 PM]
It's better looking than some of those other LED's.

I've also seen the OVFs up and they look nice too!

Are the Cooper LED OVH and OVF as bright as their HID counterparts?
GullWhiz   [Oct 20, 2011 at 02:33 AM]
Sure it is a cobrahead...sure it makes us happy....but a question remains...does it have a GOOD airflow for the heat to escape? I know Cooper also makes another LED fixture that isn't a cobrahead but it really shows a VERY good airflow to prevent the LEDs heating themselves....that is very important...so the question is will this design, allow the LED to last long?!

@Tony...any chance this arm is made by HAPCO? We have similar arms under my electrical company except ALL are 4 footers..and I think they are HAPCO since the truss arms (the ones installed from 60s to early 2000s) are HAPCOs and the design matches on my HAPCO catalog...so I was wondering if you knew....

@ mike, I haven't seen the OVFs at night but these OVH seem to match 100 watts fairly well, neighbors say thier happy with the light.

@ jace, I'm not sure if these are hapco arms but I can find out. About the air flow in these, only time will tell, these have been in service close to a year now and seem to be working just fine.

No dimming out at all??? Strong even after very hot summer??? Any of them fail?
Antstar85   [Oct 20, 2011 at 01:27 PM]
No dimming as of yet, the lasted through the summer and all lights are still working.
LilCinnamon   [Nov 03, 2011 at 06:54 PM]
These lights might not be bad at all..

Also. Isn't there an M-400 R3 LED version? I thought there was... I have never seen those in use... I know there is an induction version.

I think they should use these LED cobraheads more often. I wonder what the internals of the OVH LED would look like.

So this LED streetlight has been replaced with another LED streetlight being a 49 watt LEOTEK GC1-20c.

the one time an LED streetlight looks descent.... Confused Mad Rolling Eyes
Antstar85   [May 10, 2012 at 11:46 PM]
I wish these were the ones the city picked for the changeover, big I have to say, the LEOTEK fixtures are not the worst looking LED fixtures out there.

If RI ever wants to go LED, there's a good probability that NGrid will install GEs. They sure LOVE GE stuff.
