400w HPS 115? They still make those? I thought they stopped that.....
Antstar85   [Oct 02, 2011 at 05:00 PM]
Nope still make them. Chicopee just installed a bunch of 400 watt 115s this summer. I know GE discontinued 400 watt in the M-250A2

They made 400w M-250R2s too. They did this before the new M-250A2 was introduced though. GE knows better now. For cooper it doesn't matter for them. Any wattage lamp over 150 will cycle in any of their cobras. Rolling Eyes I think it has to do with the reflector material. They may be using cheaper materials or skipping a step that's making the reflector harmful to the lamp. Neutral i noticed the newer GE M-400 have cylcing problems, but it may be that the RIDOT uses Altos. It wouldn't surprise me. i'm not positiv on what they use.

yep I see OVZ's and OVX's cycle within a year. Westfield Ma usually is changing out 3 year old OVZs sometimes because of the frequent cycling kills the ignightors in them.

We thankfully don't use OVX here. Most of the OVZ here are 100w HPS. The few that are 250 actually don't cycle that bad here. There's one i know of that was put up in 2006 and is still using the same lamp. Shocked i'm not sure what lamps N-G uses, but they're definetly good lamps. the M-250R2 in front of my house was put up in the summer of 2008 and still has the origional lamp. The current M-250R2 in front of my house replaced another R2 that was killed by a birds' nest. The nest was too much for old guy.

We have thousands of OVXs here, they are all 250 or 400 watts (most are 400). Rolling Eyes

only town that uses OVXs here is westfield, both in 250 and 400 watt.

We use GE M-250R2 for 50, 100, and 250w HPS. GE M-400 is for 400w here. We occasionally use OVZ for 100 or 250w.
