The New Davit pole!
Here is the new configuration of the electric distribution at this intersection. The Leotek LED fixture was reused along with the same photocell as the electric was placed underground as part of a intersection upgrade happening later this spring. You can also see the new riser pole installed just behind the new Davit.

The davit and LeoTek make this look a lot like the current RIDOT installations. RIDOT seems to be in love with the LeoTeks. The PCs they're using have dayburning issues too. Neutral

HG&E recently changed the brand of photocells they were using. They were using those sun-tech " long life " controls that had a green cover but the spot replacements that I've noticed are now black and not nearly as sensitive. I'm not sure of the brand but they appeared when the city began replacing the remaining HPS floods over to LED. They are installing those cooper UFLD Led floods as a replacement and I will say the light distribution is quite nice with them.

HG&E is huge with using Davit poles for single fixtures but use Tapered Elliptical for double fixture installations.

RIDOT initially had used shorting caps with the relay lights and regular blue PCs with the PC-controlled lights but they had changed all the PCs out to these cream colored squatty looking devices, which are probably some sort of node or something. However, it seems the lights are still individually controlled. Perhaps the nodes will one day be hooked up after everything is LED... I've noticed several dayburners and oddly enough, lots of them are on relay-controlled lighting, making me think they bypassed the relay's timer/PC and are having the lights individually controlled, which is stupid in my opinion. Not really sure what's going on in their heads. Laughing

What I've been noticing a lot lately with the Sun-Tech controls is the covers popping off. These controls are complete junk now. I like DTL for the fact that the housing is screwed to the base making it much more difficult for the cover to pop off.

Yeah DTLs are nice PCs even though they're made in China. Shame they put Sun-Tech/Fisher Pierce to shame, which actually makes the units right in Massachusetts, don't they? Ripley units are nice and they're made in the USA but they're rather expensive. ALRs I think are still made in the USA but not sure if they're fantastic quality. I assume they'd beat FP/Sun-Tech though lol.

ALR photocontrols are made in China. They're actually great quality. Maybe better than DTL.
