This is the only remaining design from the original Westinghouse second generation OV line. Cooper repositioned the P-cell receptacle back to its original position with this version of the OVL. If the P-cell is set back in either the grey (OVL) or silver (OV50) then it would be a Crouse-Hinds version.
Yeah. I called Cooper a couple weeks ago with a few questions about the OVL, and they told me that it was discontinued. It's not on their website anymore. Along with a few other fixtures too. Like the drop lens version of the OVF, not sure of the model it might be OVD? I never really took the time to learn ALL of Cooper's model numbers. Except the common ones around here that are easy like the OVH, OVF and OVZ.
Yeah. But I like the AEL 327 though. It has had pretty much the same design for most of the time it has been produced. It's a larger version of the model 25 basically.
Yeah it's a real shame that they had to go and discontinue all of those models. Maybe they discontinued the OVD and OVG because they might be trying to steer everybody towards FCO lighting.
The OVD didn't seem to be popular at all. When people wanted a 400W Cooper fixture, they went for the OVX because it was smaller (and likely cheaper because of that) but since the OVX makes for a terrible FCO fixture, they kept the OVY and OVF. Not sure why they dropped the OVG, but I don't like sag lens lights anyways so I won't be missing it.
