yes this is the famous Acme Semaphore signal. This was the highlight of Hollywood streets back in the late teens up until the early 1930s. Now they're one of the most rare and expensive traffic signals in the world to own. Only a handful still remain, and a few are in museums.

Wow! This is really cool!!! Where would this particular come from? Which intersection?

I didn't ask him. But Acmes were the main signal in the LA/Hollywood area back in the 1910's through the very early 1930s...this is why alot of old hollywood movies and cartoons have them.

Although they are common in older pop culture, an original Acme is extremely rare. Only a few remain and most are in museums. Some companies produce replica Acmes built to the exact specs as the originals for use in places like Disneyworld's MGM park to simulate 1920s-1930s Hollywood. I actually seen a replica on ebay recently for $5,000
