Actually this one may be remote ballasted! Look at the pole, see the ballast on the pole? In the past they did offer empty cobrheads for this setup...

Also this is not a McGraw-Edision but a Line Materials from the VERY early 60s! Why? Note this fixture has 2 doors? This is the OLDER ones...and I see it also has a remote Photocell too!!!!! This is a GREAT find here!!!!!

Ah yes, I didn't even notice the ballast on the pole until you mentioned it! Very cool!
