Satco Magnetic-Ballasted CFLs
The Hawk has landed!!! During his flight, he found these charming little magnetically-ballasted CFLs. Actually, the ballast units were purchased prior to the purchase of the lamps. These were an eBay acquisition, and although I can't remember the exact purchase price for the two ballast units, they were, collectively, under $5. The lamps were also purchased from an eBay seller, for mere pennies. Here you see them lit in my ceiling fan in my room. The lamps are GE Double-Biax 13 watt 3500K tubes.

O think these show, why such concept didn't reach wide acceptance...

By he way i see notches on the rim around the CFL lamp base, it look, like there should exist some bowls to cover the fluorescent...

Very nice! Gotta love that preheat start!

Medved....I remember buying a very early electronic ballast (circa mid 90s) and it did too have some similar notches around the rim but no bowls existed....

What Brian has here...looks similar to one of my magentic CFL though....I will need to look at it but its a Reflector lamp!

Very nice set of lamps/ballasts. And the ceiling fan is a lot better than mine. Smile
