Sylvania Long Life Lamps 1156A
The one outside from the package is the old rear turn signal light from my 2007 Chevrolet Aveo. It was not working/intermitting issue of the said bulb. I decided to replace the bulb that I got from the local Auto Supply store.

Fabrication location: Germany, Italy or Slovakia (Sylvania) and unknown (Burned out Bulb)

Had a look at mine, and the egg yolk is peeling off. Just cleaned up the bottom contact, retensioned the holder and gave it a quick spritz of spray oil, and back it went into service.

Maybe I should hold on the old bulb until needed again Wink

Natural amber (NA) - or transparent amber as opposed to a translucent amber coating - automotive bulbs used to be manufactured with glass colored with cadmium. The color of these bulbs would not deteriorate in any fashion over time. However, cadmium eventually was deemed an environmental pollutant, and the manufacture of these bulbs ended sometime in the '90s, I think. All amber bulbs are now spray painted. The early ones were quite bad. For some reason, I recalll many Volvos and Jaguars using these bulbs had faded amber signals. Perhaps those were Philips bulbs from the UK. I have not seen this problem as much anymore so I assume bulb manufacturers have figured out how to make a more durable amber finish.

Probably used the better lacquer finish to make the coating last longer Confused
