Universal Shop Light Ballast
This was in a Lithonia shoplight that was in my garage when I first moved in. I moved it to the basement crawlspace and it's now back in service running a pair of 40w full-wattage, full-mercury Philips tubes. The ballast runs pretty hot but it also runs the lamps brighter than most of my other ballasts, even most of the high-power-factor ones.

0.82A, that's basically full-power. Shocked Very odd for a NPF ballast... This is definetly an older ballast. BTW, how long has Lithonia been around? My grandpa has slimline lithonias and claims they've been there "forever" yeat they look like they're from the 90s. A few of the lights are indeed old looking but i wonder how long they've really been around?

Lithonia has been around since at least the 60s, A few members on LG have some 60s era Lithonia fixtures.

Yeah some of these older NPF ballasts are worthy of using because they aren't dim! I have also seen ones rated at .80 amp and are dim, so it depends on the design

i've only ever seen 1 lamp NPF F40 ballasts. They even run F20T12s dim. Confused

I think only the residential grade wraparounds and shoplights had LPF 2 F40 ballasts.

Wow, a LPF residential ballast that doesn't underpower lamps severely like stuff like the Advance "BenchLite"?!

Wow, a full-power LPF ballast! If the Advance HomeBrite ballasts were like this, they would actually make your home bright! Rolling Eyes
