Gearhart, Oregon M250 mercury fixtures
On my return to Gearhart, a small town outside Seaside, Oregon, I was sad to see that quite a few more of these have been replaced with HPS. I am assuming that the city does not stock mercury lamps anymore and thus these are being replaced when the lamps burn out. The remaining fixtures still have old photocontrols and turn on earlier than most of the HPS fixtures, and are equipped with ED-28 clear mercury lamps. There are three in a row at the main entrance to downtown, and miscellaneous other fixtures scattered around. About 6 years ago, almost all of downtown (and it's a very quiet & dead downtown) was clear mercury....truly beautiful.
