Defective Toshiba LCD TV now used as a lightbox! - Also, an idea for the website, check it out!
Among a dozen of flat screen TVs I brought home this summer, I had this 26" Toshiba. It wasn't working, but had a weird problem. The screen would light up, but show a blank screen, entirely white! I though it could make one amazing lightbox, so I saved it.

But later I was a little tired of its weight, so I gutted everything inside the casing and installed two F15T8 tubes inside, along with a sheet of translucent white plexiglas. The sockets are screwed to the bottom of the casing, and so is the ballast tray, on which a pair of Frost (1 FBLA and one FBAK-10) preheat ballasts. The starters are located underneath and are accessible without opening the lightbox. The two tubes being used at the moment are: one heavily used Sylvania F15T8/D from 2006 and one "JFC" F15T8/D from Japan.

I'm going to take this opportunity to show you this thread, since I noticed the forum wasn't used by everyone as much as the gallery part. It's a comic project for the website ^_^

I would like to have as many opinions as possible, so I have a good idea if it would be popular enough to be worth doing LOL. You can reply here or on the thread, what's important is the reply itself xD
