Failed DTL PC
The relay ( A ) has a burnt soldered connection, the surge protector ( B ) is loose, this was from a lighted street name sign 2X F72CW. Since most PCs fail on I was curious as to why it failed off, until I opened it.

Depends on the PC also...older ones weren't electronic like above....and was more mechnical......some stops because coil burnt out, or some has cracked photocell (the part that sense sunlight) some because the maganetic strip gets stuck or loose, and some literally explodes inside....(easily can be told if the PC window is brown.....lol....I have a nice PC collection, but no where as good as Geoffs!

nice to see the insides of the PC.

Lead free solder and thermal cycling. Like the RROD on an XBox. The burning is from high current arcing. Often you will find that the VDR is either cracked, or open circuit totally, from repeated surges that it received.
