Poor R37 on an Ancient Concrete Pole
This is at a half-deserted business park in Exeter, RI near the Veterans Memorial Cemetary. Poor guy is missing a refractor and PC but has a lamp. The others all have lamp and PC but another has a broken refractor. The refractors appear to be polycarbonate since they're browned. This a streetview shot.

Part of the business park seems abandoned (it's just a couple rows of streets with nothing but grass and trees between them) so maybe I'll go by in person and see if it's feasible to get one of these with a ladder. These are nice poles. Wish I could take one home lol. I really want an R37 and being in the US, it's a rare sight to see these.

We have these same concrete poles in the older neighborhoods in Holyoke. They used to support M-250A's but we now know what happened to them.

Ah cool. These apparently held old incandescent gumball lights as you can see here. Looks like they never bothered replacing them. Those probably don't work anyways. It's unfortunate that those M-250As got replaced. They're nice lights, but from experience from mine being in the backyard, those poor M-250As are unfortunately wasp-friendly. Those 60s M-250Rs don't let anything inside. They're awesome.

Yeah at least there doesn't appear to be any damage to the fixture body. One guess I have as to why the light is like this is that the ignitor may have died and wouldn't light a new lamp so they intentionally removed the PC and refractor to denote that it didn't work. Dunno why they'd leave it like this though lol.
