Old Classics at Night
Here's some shots of the few remaining merc and fluorescent lumes in my area. The first pic shows some 175w merc B2227s in operation. The one that is out had been dayburning for years so I have a feeling the ballast blew though.

Some McGraw Unidor 175s light up the residential streets of this small town. There were also some merc posttops in a newer neighbourhood and three Unistyle 175s. Two Unistyle 175s have been converted to HPS but one still remains merc. There are also some AEL 115 HPS installed as spot replacements.

These fluorescent lumes light up the main street in this town. They're still hanging on but I think they're replacing them with HPS as the lumes fail.

Well, did anyone even open this pic? Since there's more inside. It's not everyday you see a merc here in Ontario.

I had seen the pics when you emailed me them but it's worth it to say again that these are all cool finds becuase you'll never find any R37s, Unidor 150s, or fluorescent street lights here. I like the Unidor 150 but not the Unidor 400. I've always wondered what driving under fluorecent street lights would be like...

They actually look a little bit like a more diffuse MV lol. I heard rumours that when MV was king here clear lamps were used instead of /DX.

I think highway 89 still has some mercs left

Cool! I heard mercs are still in use in the Collingwood area and I know Niagara Falls and St. Jacobs still has some mercs left in use.

Nice! There are still mercs in Stayner, or there were as of two summers ago. In Okaville we repaired a mercury post top, since the ballast fried it became HPS, at least the fixture is still there. As for that one that's out it could just be the PC, they cause lights to go out a lot more often than I realized.

Thanks Niall! I believe St. Jacobs still has the merc gumballs and M-400As too, unless they secretly converted them to HPS which I highly doubt.

Didn't know Oakville still had MV though, although some of the twistpaks in Toronto look like they have MV lamps.

I should've said it was a pathway light, and it was just that one. Maybe we finished off the last one. Shocked
