A panel of a fuel pump of "Paz" gas station with displays of the costs of the fuels onto the panel itself
The signs of the cost of the fuel in Israel is on the panel of the fuel pumps of the gas stations themselfs.
Right is: Diesel, left is: Octane 98 unleaded gasoline and the middle is: Octane 95 unleaded gasoline.
The costs are per 1 liter.
As you can see: we fueled ~45 liters of octane 95 unleaded gasoline in our Skoda Fabia mini car and paid almost 300 NIS.
All of the direct segement controling LCD panels are backlighted in the evening by regular halophosphors 765 T8 tubes of 36w or 18w.

Shocked Pretty much expensive. By the way, 45 litre is same size of tank that I have in my car and I only paid approximately US$ 28 for about 40 litres Sad

Now you have your own frozen gas price in this picture Very Happy

The reason for the difference in prices is because USA have many oil sources. We haven't any oil sources in Israel. So we import the oil from Europe and only distilling it.
Fueling the vehicle ourself have slightly lower cost then fueling with one of the people of the station.

How much of that price is the real cost of gasoline and how much is taxes? It is about the same price as here (and much of the rest of the world) and here 70 % of the gasoline price is made up of taxes.

I don't know, what would be the response in US seeing gas for nearly $8.8/gal.
Gas taxes here (Europe and close around) are really huge, i think it is, indeed, about 70% of the sales cost and the EU "government" still want to rise them... And what is even more annoying, if you want to use some recycled material as vehicle fuel (e.g. used vegetable oil could be technically used after a bit of quite simple processing in older diesel engines), you have to pay the same tax from it as from normal diesel fuel, regardless you actually reduce the overall environmental impact (claimed by EU representatives as their top priority)

looks like i started a fuel price photo epidemic. Laughing

I think our taxes of the gas is about the same as Europe. As the gas price in Europe rise, the gas price in Israel also rise.
