R47 Refractor Clip
For Mike, I believe the R37/B2227 should use the same clip. Anyway I took mine out from my R47 and whipped up a quick CAD drawing of it. Dimensions should be fairly accurate to the real thing. Full CAD files are available if needed.

Shocked Wow excellent work! Thanks a ton Joe! Hmm Looks like I will probably buy a little bag of corner braces and modify one to use for the refractor clip. All that was left in my light was the flat part where the screw hole is lol.

No problem, looking forward to seeing the restored R37.

Yeah I'll be glad when it's clean enough to bring in the house lol. It's in the backyard on its back getting filled with rain right now lol. the door is in my garage, disassembled (latch removed, hinge keeper removed, refractor clip screw removed). The reflector is out of the light and is also laying outside next to the light. The reflector just popped out without tools. The socket is attached to it but the wires were chewed away so they weren't attached to anything...

BTW, do you happen to know if there's supposed to be a gasket around the socket? The space between the socket and reflector is just open so anything can get in the optical assembly. I wonder if all that fluff inside the light was a felt gasket that the birds/mice living inside the light cannibalized?

If you are using a lightweight plastic refractor, you could just 3d print a new clip probably (that is, if you have access to a 3d printer. I just made a new capacitor holder for my OV-15 with one.)

Don't have a 3D printer. Actually, the clip isn't totally necessary if you use extreme care when opening the door, since the cast-in tabs on the front of the door are enough to hold the refractor in place as long as you don't push the door past vertical.

Technically I could convert the Solidworks part file to a .STL file for 3D printing but a 3D printed clip would only be strong enough for a plastic refractor. The OEM clip is galvanized steel but aluminium should work fine.

My R47 has a 1/4" thick felt gasket around the socket. It's basically a 3" square piece of felt with a hole for the socket in the centre. Not really sure if the R37s used the same gasket.
