A >30 years old Perfekt-Start ballast that i picked up from the storage of Carmel hospital to my hostel
This is the old type of ballasts that Carmel hospital had in many F40T12 fixtures until the T12s became obsolete in Israel, and 40W T12s replaced with 36W T8s.
This ballast is starterless, and as such, it can't operate F36T8 lamps, only F40T12 lamps, so the move to T8, required to replace these ballasts with switchstarts/preheaters (Mostly with electronic starters).
This ballast is unique that despite that it is starterless, it preheats the electrodes of the lamps before ignition.
