EPAC was a manufacturer based in Brampton, ON that made utility hardware including streetlights.

I believe the model name of this is "DUSUREA-PAC" since that's what was on the ballast housing and that these were originally mercury having since been retrofitted to 100w HPS (note the non standard wattage tag).

Here's a closeup of the ballast box, it's cast aluminium:

Sweet! It's like a makeshift powerbracket lol. Very Happy

Thanks, they also made a version with a bucket refractor.

Nice find, too bad its HPS tho. Odd that the arm is attached to the ballast casing, something I have never seen down here in the states.

Must be a pretty strong box (I hope) to hold this long arm.
streetlight98   [Dec 23, 2011 at 07:48 PM]
It appears to be a cast ballast box, so it's pretty darn strong...

Why do you hate HPS so much Dave? Confused Anyways nice on finding out the manufacturer! I have only ever seen these a few times before, pretty rare and unique!

I personally like gumballs in HPS becuase it matches the incandescent tone somewhat...

Thanks everyone, I've added a close up shot of the ballast box to this page along with the streetview link, Newmarket is the only place I know that still has a decent number of these left.

Nice closeup, interesting way of grounding the fixture as well.

@gailgrove, I like HPS for accent lighting but for main lighting, it makes everything sooo brown looking. MV makes landscaping/grass look nice and green at night Wink

You can call me Niall, (pronounced Neil). I don't mind HPS for streetlighting but I would prefer mercs, I grew up with HPS so I am pretty use to it.
Silverliner14B   [Dec 23, 2011 at 11:27 PM]
Yeah I have always preferred MV with their bluish glow. I just have never gotten used to HPS, even though I have been staring at them for the past 30 years.

No, "Neel" ex. Neil Armstrong...
don   [Dec 23, 2011 at 11:32 PM]
@Niall, yeah I grew up with MV so I'm a die-hard fan. MH doesn't look too bad either as long as it's not too much glare or over-lit.

Unfortunately this has been LED'd sometime in the past year. They even replaced the arm/ballast box assembly with a new tapered e arm.
